Disinformation everywhere!

Our friends on the left seem to be misinformed

I have a question. Who thought a Disinformation Governance Board was a good idea?

That’s not me just being a jerk… I want to sit down and talk to the person who came up with the plan for this. I have a few questions for him or her. Not only am I curious as to why he or she thought we needed such an unAmerican thing, and not only am I curious what they hope to achieve with this abomination... I want to know why why they thought this was a good political idea.

Seriously, did this conversation take place?

White House Conference Room:

Biden Chief of Staff: We are getting killed out there! People hate us! The President is demented, inflation is out of control, Fauci keeps popping up and reminding everyone what we did to them because of COVID. The Attorney General tried to have parents investigated as terrorists. That damned Tick Tock woman keeps showing pervert teachers talking about indoctrinating people’s children. Good Lord, guys… we defunded the f-ing police!!! Someone please tell me whose bright idea that was... Even the Vice President is … God, I can’t even say her name… Kamala Whatever. Everyone hates her. Need I go on? We are screwed!

Okay folks. Outside the box thinking time! Start giving me ideas. Why is this going so badly, and what can we do about it?

White House Ding Dong 1: Well, if people don’t like us it must be because they are being misinformed… with disinformation! It can’t be that we are all loathsome, corrupt, morons who don’t know that we should be more interested in serving normal Americans than differently-abled, homeless, trannies, of color. It just can’t be that!

White House Ding Dong 2: Oh, I like that! Yes! People are misinformed! People keep saying things like VP Harris is a saccharine, low IQ, ill-tempered, megalomaniac who talks to people like they are slow witted six year olds. I don’t know who misinformed them of that… but I’m pretty sure it rhymes with “strussia”.

Biden Chief of Staff: Now we are getting somewhere! We aren’t the problem. The stupid American people are the problem. They can’t tell the difference between a Facebook meme and a news report. Kamala is a smart, beautiful … *he wretches*

Jesus, I just couldn’t get that out. Okay… keep going. I like where this is heading.

White House Ding Dong 1: Well, I read part of this book once…

…where they had this really great government. It was called “Big Brother” or something. It was written a long time ago, like in 1984 or some year. Anyway, in the book the government has something called a “Ministry of Truth”. What that did was make sure that anything that went out into the public went through them so they could make sure it was not dangerous misinformation and disinformation.

I didn’t finish the book, but I assume it went pretty well and everyone lived happily ever after.

White House Ding Dong 2: *Looking serious* Hmmm… That sounds like it has a lot of promise. I bet Americans would really like having their information vetted through that… what’s it called? Ministry of Truth? I love the idea, but let’s change the name to something like “Disinformation Governance Board”. That sounds much more trustworthy. And we can make it part of the Department of Homeland Security… Because everyone loves to feel safe.

Biden Chief of Staff: Now we’re cooking with gas, boys! I love the idea! But we must remember that a Ministry of Truth… er… I mean Disinformation Governance Board will only work if it is presented as a serious, apolitical, non-partisan, good faith governmental apparatus. We need to find the most accomplished, serious, scholarly doctor of misinformation to run it. Someone no American could possibly mistrust. Is that Churchill guy still around?

White House Ding Dong 3: Winston Churchill?… Pretty sure he died in the 60’s sir, and wasn’t American. But I have this cousin-in-law who kind of needs a job. She’s kind of like Churchill. You’ll love her. She is so much fun! She sings and wears fun red lipstick and hates everyone who doesn’t live in about 7 zip codes. Her name is Nina Jankowicz.

Biden Chief of Staff: I don’t know… sounds a little out there to me. She isn’t a dingbat is she?

White House Ding Dong 3: Sir, I can’t think of anyone who would call Nina Jankowicz a dingbat.

*somewhere off in the distance, a dog barks*

Biden Chief of Staff: Okay. Well, she hasn’t been wrong about a bunch of stuff publicly that is going to make us look bad, has she?

White House Ding Dong 3: *Shifts uncomfortably*. She sings fun songs!

Biden Chief of Staff: Hmm… Okay, I love it! Let’s do it!

White House Ding Dong 1: Not to be a party pooper or anything, but aren’t we a little worried about the Constitution and people’s rights?

Break Down

Look, I get it. It’s hard to have faith in the general public. The first time the Red Lobster was voted “best seafood restaurant”, I said to myself… ‘oh, a lot of people are kind of stupid’. But the fact is that even though there are a lot of really unsophisticated people out there, that doesn’t mean you may censor them or their information.

Red Lobster aside, most people actually can tell the difference between shit and Shinola. Most people… even those Trump voting rednecks… maybe even especially those Trump voting rednecks… actually do know when they are being lied to.

What are the Brian Stelter / Joe Scarborough types saying when they tell us that “misinformation and disinformation” are the biggest threats to our national security? I mean… for all the pearl clutching from our betters, I’ve never actually met anyone who believes the things that they tell me Q-Anon believes, and I have met plenty of people who still think cloth masks do something to prevent COVID.

I am not some coastal elite either. I know conservatives in a way the talking heads on TV don’t. They are my people. They are my friends. I am from where they are from. Hell, I even have my own moonshine guy in Rocky Mount, VA and I loved Johnny Cash. To quote Mr. Coe, “If that ain’t country, I’ll kiss your ass”.

I have real “red state” bonafides, and I don’t know a single person who thinks that the Clintons had a pedophile ring / devil worshiping cult in the basement of a pizza restaurant in DC (pizza-gate). However, I do know a fair amount of folks that are suspicious of rich and powerful people and their strange sex and drug interests.

I have been told that’s all conspiracy nonsense and, between us, I completely agree. Surely our betters are right. I’m sure it’s all “flat earth” stuff. I’ve never even heard of Jeffery Epstein, who obviously killed himself without the help of anyone at all. The biggest problem in our society is Russian bots, Joe Rogan, and Jordan Peterson… and their unwoke insistence that men should act like men.

Why is it that according to the media, corruption only ever runs in one direction? Why is the Hunter Biden / Joe Biden Ukraine and China connection Russian disinformation, but Donald Trump never met a nefarious plot he wasn’t a part of, no matter how ridiculous?

Why won’t anyone ask why Maxine Waters is rich as hell even though she can barely read, but everyone is super suspicious of Elon Musk? Why can’t we ask where Joe Biden got his big ass beach house, but we have to act like our hair is on fire over whether or not Donald Trump paid all his taxes?

Hell, if Trump owes some taxes, give him a bill like everyone else… But Joe Biden has been an unimpressive gaffe machine since the 70’s. Someone please explain to me why he and his entire family all have more money than Oprah. From the best that I can find, not a damn one of them has had a job in 50 years… Except the one who was in the Navy Reserves for a couple of years and got tossed out for doing cocaine.

We get no respect, I tell ya.

That’s the answer. They have no respect for the American public who can look at all this stuff and come to a pretty obvious conclusion that something just isn’t right. From the damn COVID BS where they told us we were killing old people if we went to the gym or, God forbid, got a drink in a bar, but then somehow, literally doubling Jeff Bezos’ net worth was patriotic... It’s all enough to make someone insane.

On top of all of it, horrible harpies likes Elizabeth Warren… while literally pushing more lockdowns… gaslit everyone by telling people she thought “Bezos should pay more taxes”. Not for nothing, but if you can make it though and entire Elizabeth Warren interview without muting, fast forwarding, or breaking your TV… you probably graduated SERE School.

***Well, here’s an idea you… (two b-words for a female dog who can’t have puppies)… maybe don’t shut down every small business in this country to the point that the only place to buy a roll of toilet paper is Amazon, and Bezos wouldn’t own quite so much, dumbass. ***

Yeah… you’re right. Me and my disinformation are the problem.

Lord! Give me the strength to deal with people like her with kindness! It’s hard not to have unChristian thoughts.

But what about real misinformation?

To quote our incredibly sentient and not at all demented President, “Here’s the deal, Jack”…

If you want the American people to trust you… maybe try telling the truth.

I agree that the general public aren’t always the most sophisticated people. They think the Red Lobster is a good seafood restaurant. They think pop music isn’t complete crap. They wouldn’t know a good steak if it smacked them right in the mouth…

But they know the difference between a liar and an honest person. There’s a very simple test most people have for it, too. If someone says what’s going to happen, see if it happens. If it does, most people warm up to the idea that maybe the person is honest. If it doesn’t happen… they don’t.

That’s really it.

If you tell everyone that the sea is going to rise, you better hope it rises… because when it doesn’t, nobody is going to believe you anymore. You can go to Yale and get 1,000 smart guys in tweed jackets to tell everyone that it’s really going to rise next year, but nobody is actually going to believe you.

To quote a guy I once knew… “Tonight, you might get me to sell everything I own and meet you on the mountaintop for the coming of the Lord, but if that son of a bitch doesn’t show, you’re going to have a hard time getting me to come back tomorrow.”

Do you want to know why middle America trusts Elon Musk? He’s not a conservative. He’s an immigrant who made billions in California. He has a couple of ex-wives and something like 8 kids. He’s not religious. He supported Barack Obama. So why does “unsophisticated” America trust him?

It’s simple. He said he could build an economically viable electric car and then he did it. He said he could land a rocket for re-use… then he did it. He said he would buy Twitter, then he did it.

He’s a man who does what he says he’ll do… and where I’m from, that’s about as high of a compliment as you can give a man. That’s why Americans trust him.

But what about Trump?

Here’s a fun fact that many of my left leaning friends will find hard to believe. Nobody really trusted Trump. Most still don’t.

Donald Trump is a rich kid from New York City. He is a philanderer and a bit of crook. I don’t know many people at all who ever trusted him. But I know a lot of people who really liked him. Want to know why?

Because he made people that most Americans hate go nuts. That’s really it. Sure, he talked about immigration and did good things for the GOP base on judges… but most of that was Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell, anyway. People support Donald Trump because he makes people like Brian Stelter and Mika Brzezinski go nuts.

He screws up Don Lemon’s day… and that’s worth something. The more they whinge and moan, the more people are willing to back Trump.

Do they really trust him? No. But pissing off your enemies is better than nothing. Frankly, it’s a good bit more than most middle Americans are used to.

Let’s put a bow on this

The shocking thing about the inside the beltway crowd these days is not that they are all corrupt incompetents. They’ve always been that… The shocking thing is that they have let their contempt for the American people fester to the point that they have convinced themselves that we no longer matter.

Well, to paraphrase Mr. Coe again, if that doesn’t bite them in the haunches, it’ll harelip the Pope.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!

First and foremost, to my mom:

She is smart as a whip and stronger than case hardened steel. With grace, dignity, and class, she and my dad raised my brother and me… and somehow didn’t kill us both, which we surely deserved. To this day, neither one of us quite fit the mold she probably had planned for us, but anything good in either one of us is because she gave it to us.

Anything bad in me, I assure you… I acquired it on my own. I love you mom!
