A white supremacist, a hip hop artist, and an ex-gay walk into a bar...
Want to laugh? Pretend you have a time machine. Go back to 2010. Find a random person on the street and tell them the following, and see how they react:
“Former President Donald Trump hosted openly racist rapper Kanye West, openly white supremacist Nick Fuentes, and former homosexual now christian nationalist Milo Yiannopoulos for dinner at his home on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving… approximately one week after former-President Trump formally announced he is running again for the White House in 2024.”
Can you imagine someone’s response if you told them that would be a factual statement in 2022? I bet they’d call the folks with the butterfly nets to take you away.
At any rate, that insanity actually happened… and it only got worse from there.
After the Trump supper, Nick and Kanye went on Alex Jones’ show where Kanye, wearing a black Balenciaga gimp hood, which covered his entire face, repeatedly praised Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Why, you might be asking? Dear reader… we are way too far through this looking glass to start worrying about why, at this point.
Fun fact though… They say if you listen really hard, late at night, you can still hear Donald Trump’s Presidential hopes dying.
We all need to avoid partisan narratives at this point. They are causing nothing but pain and division. So here’s the truth about this situation: Donald Trump is not an antisemite. He is an undisciplined narcissist who doesn’t even have the campaign apparatus in place to keep antisemites and white supremacists away from his dinner table. Would you like to have supper with Donald Trump? Show him a couple million Twitter followers, kiss his orange ass in public, show up at Mar-A-Lago, ask for a Diet Coke and a well done steak, and you too can lead the news cycle for a few days.
The reason it’s time to move on from Trump is not because he was a bad President (he was), and it’s not because he is a secret racist (he’s not). It’s because he is undisciplined, unprincipled, and he can’t win. He won exactly one election… in 2016. He won because the press didn’t know how to effectively attack him, made money off of giving him attention, and his opponent was about as likable as Jeffery Dahmer. All that is over now though. The press will not give him that kind of attention again. We all know the game at this point and most of us are bored with it. In short, we have seen behind the curtain and there is no going back to believing the “wonderful wizard” exists instead of a small, weird, charlatan.
Think about it this way. Would you have dinner with Nick Fuentes? I wouldn’t… and I’m not running for anything. I wouldn’t be in a room with the guy, much less at a dinner table with him. I don’t care what he has to say… I don’t need to hear some 24 year old store brand David Duke go on about the blacks, gays, Jews, whoever. I don’t want to be connected to him. I don’t people who respect me to think that I shared air with him. And again… I’m not even a former President who is trying to run again.
Despite all that, Fuentes, West, and Yiannopoulos managed to find their way into President Trump’s home, to his dinner table, to his presence. I’m sorry… That’s disqualifying. Again… not because Trump is a secret racist, but because with judgement like that and nobody capable of protecting him from himself, he simply can’t be trusted.
That’s it.
The first WNBA trade to ever make headlines
Brittney Griner is back in the US and all it cost us was one merchant of death and leaving behind a Marine. — At least if you want to believe the narrative. I have a slightly different take.
Let’s just be straight with each other. While I don’t know much of anything about Brittney Griner, I am quite sure I would not like her. She is a WNBA player, a leftist, has been critical of America, always scowling, and generally seems unpleasant… and before you get your underwear all twisted, I assure you she would hate my short, white, patriotic, gay, conservative-libertarian, butt too.
But this isn’t about that. Griner was traveling to Russia for a moonlight gig playing for the Russian women’s league. That’s not odd… a lot of female basketball players join overseas teams during the offseason for extra money. When she arrived in country, she had some vape capsules with hashish in them. It was less than a gram of hash oil, and either she forgot she had them or figured it wasn’t a big deal.
Now you may or may not have been into a lot of foreign countries, but over the years I have. Lots of countries have some pretty strict rules about what can be brought across the border. I remember flying into Kuwait in 2005, without a diplomatic passport and completely alone. I was repeatedly warned that if I had any “porn” I could be arrested and be in big trouble. Well… fine. I wasn’t in the habit of traveling with “porn” anyway. What I did have was a copy of Maxim Magazine (pretty sure this was the one. In hindsight, I should have tossed it before Kuwait… but I really didn’t think that was “porn”). I had bought the magazine back in the states and it was still in my carry on. What I didn’t know was that to the Kuwaiti morality police, Maxim was basically Hustler. Oops.
Luckily for me, they looked in my bag, just gave me a nasty look, and threw it away. Of course that was at a time when a hell of a lot of young, red blooded, western men were flying into Kuwait. I was lucky. Nobody wanted to make a big deal out of it.
Unfortunately for Brittney, Russia happens to be in a brand new Cold War with the US right now. We are sending billions of dollars in armaments to Ukraine to kill Russians. Basically, Russia felt like being a dick… and this young lady was caught right in the middle. A couple of years ago, this likely wouldn’t have been an issue… but it’s a whole new world out there.
I don’t know anything about how it all came to pass, but the long and the short of it is that Brittney’s freedom became a bargaining chip in a months long negotiation between the US State Department and Russia. In the end, a prisoner exchange took place. Some arms dealer we have been holding was traded for Brittney. What we don’t know and can’t know is what else was involved in that negotiation.
In the end, I am very happy that Brittney Griner made it back to America. She got herself caught up in a situation that was much bigger than any mistake she might have made. She is a citizen of our great country and was arrested on BS charges and held because Russia wanted to put our feet to the fire. It was the right thing to do to get her back, and the State Department and the Biden Administration did the right thing by bringing her home. I wish her well.
But what about the US Marine that Biden left over there!?!
Here’s what you need to know about that:
His name is Paul Whelan
He was supposedly kicked out of the USMC for some kind of larceny.
He then got a job as as the global security director for some international auto parts manufacturer
He was supposedly caught spying in Russia and arrested with a USB drive that had Russian state secrets on it.
Look… I am not an expert on espionage, but I am not completely ignorant of the subject either. The CIA says he’s not one of ours. This may or may not be true, but he is also a citizen of Canada, the UK, and Ireland… so he could have been working for about anyone… or no one.
When I first wrote this section, I was going to suggest the guy could be some sort of NOC (non-official cover) agent for one of the various countries in which he has citizenship. I ran the theory past a one of my spooky friends, and was told in no uncertain terms that a) no top echelon NATO country would hire some dude who got tossed out of the Marines for larceny to go undercover for them and b) the fact that no top echelon NATO country has made any effort to retrieve him means he very likely wasn’t working for any of them.
Occam’s razor says the simplest explanation is the one to go with until more evidence points you to a more complicated one. Let’s assume for the moment that Russia is telling the truth and that he was arrested with a USB drive with Russian state secrets on it. That means he is a nutter who was just doing something on his own, for his own reasons… or he was working for a private company… or he was working for a some other country.
Either way, it seems that he got caught doing something spooky. The best evidence that he wasn’t working in the US Government’s interest is that the US Government doesn’t have any interest in helping him. So the narrative that Griner’s freedom should be subservient to his is specious. Griner got caught up in tensions between the US and Russia. That’s not her fault. Whelan seems to have gotten himself in trouble playing James Bond without MI-6 backing him up. It’s probably a fascinating story. It’s probably also on him and whoever he was working for to get him out.
Lee Harvey Oswald
Speaking of international intrigue and our friends at the CIA, there is now credible evidence that the US Government is in possession of information that Lee Harvey Oswald had a deep connection with the CIA and the US Government before he shot President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 in Dallas. (Check out the below video)
So was Oswald working for the CIA? Did they order him to kill JFK? Are all the craziest conspiracy theories actually true?
Well… Probably not.
My guess is that what we will find out is that the CIA was watching Oswald and knew exactly who he was. This isn’t terribly surprising considering he was a US Marine who, in the middle of the coldest part of the Cold War, attempted to defect to Russia then undefected and returned to the US. The idea that the US Government didn’t have an eye on him is less likely than the fact that they did.
At some point Oswald moved to New Orleans for reasons that have never been made very clear. There he bumped into anti-Castro groups (which in the early 60’s were all funded by the CIA). He was also in Mexico at some point trying to talk to the Cuban embassy. The guy was ticking all the boxes as someone to watch closely.
My guess is that what the government doesn’t want revealed is exactly how “on the radar” Oswald was and whether or not he was actually in the employ of a communist foreign power. I’m sure they would have been concerned that if it came out that he was being watched as closely as he was, people might ask… then why was he allowed to fricken’ shoot the President of the United States? Was he working for a foreign government at the time? Is there evidence that he was getting direction from Cuba or the USSR?
There also might not be an easy answer to those questions, hence the Government’s apprehension over divulging such a bombshell. Keep in mind, two things can be true at once… Oswald might have been working for Russia or Cuba. He might have had contacts with agents for both countries in the time leading up to the assassination. However, it’s also very likely than not that neither country instructed him to kill the President. I mean… Why risk nuclear war to knock off Kennedy just to leave yourself with LBJ, who was much more of a hawk? It doesn’t make sense.
Either way, let’s see if the documents show anything this week. It’s a very interesting development in a very interesting subject!
Based Elon is the best Elon
LOL. He’s my favorite human.
Non Sequitur
I have two:
Amazon: Am I the only one who is noticing that Amazon sucks now? Like their delivery drivers can’t even manage to deliver items to an address and everything is now running late. I mean, I know it’s Christmas time and they are slammed, but this has been getting worse for months.
I miss stores.
Meghan and Harry: Oh really? They have a Netflix thing coming out? They are bratty and awful and everyone hates them?
I need you to hear me on this… I don’t care even a little bit about those spoiled redcoats and their incessant need to whine. I will never listen to a single interview they do. I will never watch a single show that has either of them in it. I wouldn’t even really pay attention if the Royal Palace sent terrorists to California to assassinate them. I don’t care.
As a matter of fact, every time I see a headline about them. I want to go full Mel Gibson and run them through with an American flag while shouting Yankee Doodle Dandy. In language they would understand… and from the bottom of my heart… SOD OFF.
Happy Tuesday all! I hope everyone had a chuckle at this rundown and if you did… share it with a friend! God bless — Virgil
The older I get the more I realize that most issues have two sides that rarely are explained in detail. Trying not to sound elitist but it is easy to see why most people don't have the capacity or willingness to try to see both sides or to understand that truth can be subjective. I'm too old to have knee jerk reactions to the news anymore; more like Ideological spasms.
My thing with Griner is this: other than the fact that she’s an American who got to come home and doesn’t have to stay in a damn Russian prison for 14 years or whatever, I couldn’t care less. Looks like the gun-runner they traded for her mostly ran guns for us, anyway. Lol. So…meh.
I also couldn’t be bothered to care about Harry and Meghan. I mentioned something like that to my boss once, and she was like “OMG! I’m sooo Team Harry and Meghan!” And that’s hilarious because she would eat them alive if she ever saw them in person. Lightweights. My thoughts about Meghan Markle are that she’s kind of cute…and then I move right the hell on with my day.
I am finding it increasingly difficult to care about any politics these days, after the shit show of the midterms. It’s all just BS posturing anyway. 90% of them are, ultimately, on the same team. And guess what? They’re wearing a different color jersey than I am and they all have the latest sneakers, leaving me to wear the sweat-stained pinney and the too-small shoes with blown-out toes.
